cabbage gratin

Ingredients

INGREDIENTS
1 medium green cabbage, cut into 8 wedges lengthwise
salt and pepper
120ml double cream
120ml vegetable stock
1 cloves garlic, finely grated
pinch ground nutmeg
Grated cheddar cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 160c. Cut the cabbage into 8 wedges. Steam the cabbage until tender, meanwhile, in a medium bowl, whisk together cream, garlic, nutmeg, and stock. Season. Set aside. Transfer the cabbage into a medium baking dish, pour cream sauce over, and Top with cheese. Bake the dish until the cream is beginning to thicken and cabbage is deeply golden, about 30 minutes. Serve with more grated cheese and chunks of crusty sourdough loaf.
